Dates: 21-22 February, 2019

Purpose of the Conference: discussion of the topical issues of the "smart economy" model based on innovative transformation of the oil-and-gas production industry, building of the favorable environment, creation of conditions for the further development of the Autonomous Okrug as the technological foothold of Russia in the development of the North and the Arctic.


The agenda of the International Workshop and Conference of the young scientists and professionals "Technologies of the Future in the Oil and Gas Provinces" (RAS) will cover 3 academic panel discussions on the following topics:


Panel: "Modern technological solutions in the oil and gas industry"

Development of the new technologies for the oil fields projections, seismic and electrical survey for their search and exploration, as well as the innovative technologies for the oil and gas fields development, as well as strategic metals, diamonds, etc. deposits; associated petroleum gas utilization in the production regions; the development of the resource-saving gas-hydrate based technologies for natural gas storage and utilization under the conditions of the cold Arctic climate; the offshore fields development, technologies for the search, exploration, and development of the mineral resources deposits, their production and transportation; technologies for the efficient production and conversion of fossil fuel energy; technological solutions for the oil and gas industry, natural gas treatment; fundamental academic research in the oil and gas sector, the study of the oil and gas fields reservoir systems; the potential Arctic shelf development projects, the specifics of the oil and gas production in the Arctic.


Panel: "Industrial development - from idea to technology":

Development of the new types of transportation vehicles for the organization and improvement of transport services, the robotic and automated systems, the use of electric transport based on the new types of energy sources for the mining companies operating in the Arctic; the development of the new Arctic type wind-driven power plants taking into account the wind energy potential of the Arctic zone of Russia, including for the purposes of the Northern sea route operation; the development of the new autonomous energy supply facilities based on small modular nuclear reactors customized for the operation in the Arctic conditions, new fuel elements and materials for them, the high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, and the radioisotope power sources. The development of new technology for making of the cold-resistant steel, corrosion-resistant under the conditions of sea water exposure, the fundamental basics of the ion-plasma technologies for the making of new freeze-proof coatings on cold-resistant steel and alloys, the development of protective niobium and niobium carbide based coatings on the units and mechanisms for oil and aggressive liquids pumping made from different steel grades; the development of innovative technologies for the special grade of titanium oxide filler extracted from the the Khibiny ores concentration waste for the purposes of its use in making the thermo-stabilizing and radiation- resistant coatings and insulation materials; the solution of the problem of making the new niobium and molybdenum based alloys with high low-temperature plasticity; the development of processing technologies for the direct micro-alloying of steel with boron for the purposes of organizing steel production for Arctic applications; the development of new technologies for the making of aerogels on the basis of new high-performance heat-insulating materials for new equipment, structural elements and protective clothing models for the Arctic environment, as well as the molecular and the polymer components for the making of new freeze-proof composite materials, the small-scale power generation for the improvement of the quality of life of the indigenous peoples of the North; the technologies for different types of transport; technologies in the agribusiness sector; technologies for the monitoring and forecasting of the state of the environment, prevention and recovery of oil spills; technologies for the prevention and recovery of natural and man-made disasters and emergencies; technologies for the new and recoverable energy sources and energy saving; technologies for processing of quartz sand, clay, peat and other local materials; water treatment technologies; new technologies for sorting and treatment of household and industrial waste.


Panel: "Ecology. Green technologies"


Theoretic ecology.

Discussion topics: Problems of the development of conceptual approaches to the managing of the natural and the man-made ecosystems evolution taking into consideration the objectives of preservation of the their environmental functions and the laws of their spatial and temporal variability under the effect of the natural and the human-induced factors. Simulation of the structure and functions of ecosystems, bio-production processes managing. Assessment of the modern state and the projections of the ecosystems changes as a result of the possible climate change and the anthropogenic impact. The effect of the global climate change and the human economic activity on the condition of soil and the surface waters; assessment of the ecological role of soil and soil covering in the greenhouse gas emission and sinks; the study of the environmental role of soil in the formation and the preservation of the global bio-diversity.


Applied ecology.

Discussion topics: The development of technologies in the area of the ecosystems recovery, industrial wastelands recultivation, production induced formations and waste disposal.   The development and implementation of "green" energy-saving and resource-saving technologies in megalopolises. Environmental problems in agriculture and the ways of their solution. Assessment of the hazards and risks of the natural and the industry-induced processes, modern methods for the study of the natural processes and applied problems solving in connection with the use of the new fundamental knowledge about the shaping of changes and the variability of the natural environment elements. The development of the environment oriented natural resource management concept.


Environmental law, environmental ethics, ecological morality.

Discussion topics: The legal base for the prevention of harm to the environment, the rational use of natural resources, protection of life and health of the people, protection of the environmental balance, free access to the environmental information, etc. General issues of the environmental ethics and morality.
